Best Ammo For Glock 19x - There are many pistols available today that are very small and light, carry several rounds and can easily fit in a pocket. This is the trend these days and many shooters eat them. And for many, these small pistols fill the bill nicely for defensive purposes. I have several smaller pistols. With that in mind, why did I choose the Glock 19X as my next handgun? Of course, there are lighter, smaller options for concealment.
As mentioned above, I already have that facility covered and I plan to fill another position; I was looking for a combat pistol that would allow me to win in a hostile environment. It would be an added bonus if this pistol was relatively easy to conceal.

Let's face it, if we're in real trouble, we're bringing something more serious than pistols into the fray (we'd better avoid conflict altogether). This is assuming that everything is ideal. Because of Murphy's Laws, they are usually not. Pistol bullets are generally not an effective deterrent due to their low velocity.

On the other hand, it's not always convenient or possible to carry a long gun, so pistols are often the tools we have to work with, which brings me to the point of this article.
The current Glock 19X was originally introduced to the military a few years ago as a competitor to the XM17 MHS (Modular Weapon System). The pistol's purpose was to become a standard weapon for use in enclosed areas, such as car crew members. The pistol must have a large magazine (of course) and be very reliable (of course). Manual safety was added to military applications, but Glock chose to remove the safety on handguns sold to civilians.
In the end, the military chose the Sig P320, because I will not repeat it here, although on the street that price is like straw breaking the back of a camel. A book could be written about all the details of service testing and I have no intention of re-driving that line. Suffice it to say, both the Sig and the Glock are great pistols and I know many people who own both brands and are happy with them. I'll go into that in a moment because I really like Glock. It's also not unfortunate that more than half of law enforcement agencies in the United States (along with some military units) issue Glock guns.
The 19X's specs are a 4.02-inch barrel, a weight (with empty magazine) 24.83 ounces, and a height of 5.47 inches.

To simplify the dry specs above, the 19X has a Glock 17 handle and a Glock 19 slide. Full-size, shorter slide handle.
From the outset, many in the shooting community nearly had a nervous breakdown and consumed 55-gallon buckets of antacids to quell the indigestion it caused. You see, many shooters want the opposite; a shorter grip (better to conceal the pistol) and a longer slide (longer sight radius for hitting distant targets).
But do they really know what they want? Fast-forward to today and we see loads of shooters praising the 19X generation and its "rear" anatomy. Personally, I know a few dozen people who love 19X. So what happened in the world to change people's minds?
To better understand this, let's go back to 1970, when the concept of combat command was put into body (or let's say steel). It has a 1911...wait...full size handle and short slide!
How Many Rounds Does A Glock Hold?
The same concept applies to the Glock 19X (as well as the Glock 43X) as well as the Combat Commander. The full-size grip allows for a good grip purchase as well as a full reload.
First, it clears the holster faster because there's less sliding action to pull out of that holster, and that tick in one shot can make all the difference. A faster stroke is always a good thing. The difference between the G19 and G17's slide lengths is about an inch and a half, with the G19 being significantly shorter.
The front of the slide and frame are beveled, making reloading easier than previous models that lacked these features. Also note the Coyote Brown finish.
Next, the shorter slide allows the shooter to index the target faster. However, the rolling path will be less and at close range the user can aim faster. Is this a big advantage? It's not drastic, but with faster capture we'll cut our reaction time by more than a second, and that can add up. So a shorter slide helps on both of these.

Critics have complained about the shorter sight radius and how it affects accuracy. The question one should ask is how far does one intend to aim? Even at long distances, the Glock 19's long slide can handle as well as many other combat pistols, so the shorter slide shouldn't be a major inconvenience. Weighing the pros and cons, I would use the shorter slide because it's easier, faster and still gets the job done, thank you very much!
Considering all these factors, Glock didn't come up with a new concept with the "X" line because it was invented decades ago. However, I appreciate that they took the concept back and incorporated it into their line of firearms. They went against the trend and came up with a better product for it.
As mentioned above, if I was looking for a Glock to carry for defense and concealment purposes, I would choose the Glock 43X (which is actually the route I went for) or the Glock 19. Both are capable pistols. However, for the reasons mentioned above, I chose 19X. Therefore, this article is at least a bit of a comparison in the philosophy of the pistol-included missions.
There are four rear straps that are interchangeable with the 19X to accommodate different sizes and shapes - two for medium and two for large hands. The medium and large sizes each have a beavertail configuration for users who want that kind of grip. I mean, those rear straps are really good. They are installed by removing the latch from the pistol grip, snapping the belt in place, and then re-attaching the latch. This is very easy to do. I personally don't install any of these because I want the smallest grip for my average hand. The stock is already very solid and I don't want to add any more length to reach the trigger.

That said, even my average hands should have no problem getting a good grip on this 19X. For me, it's not as comfortable as my 43X, it has a thinner grip and I find it to be my least favorite Glocks.
Glock 19X, below Glock 43X. The 43X is a bit smaller, but the size difference isn't as big as you might think.
When firing the 19X, however, this extra grip circle has the advantage of spreading recoil over a larger area and translating into better control. A large 9mm pistol is not a problem to control, but more control is always good. The 19X grip doesn't have the finger grooves found on some other Glock models, and most of us are glad they've been removed. The stock uses RTF (Rough Texture) and it provides traction without harming the skin when holding the pistol.
Other extras come standard with the 19X and they really set it apart from other Glock products. The first thing that got me excited about it becoming the norm was the iron night sights. Well done, Glock! They should be standard on every handgun sold. They are a very simple 3 dot job powered by Tritium and their night light is very bright.

All in all, I like these attractions (if you haven't come across my favorite yet). Made of steel, they are very durable and allow the gun to work in all conditions. The only thing Glock enthusiasts complain loudly about is the Polymer scope that most of their pistols come with, and the Glock 19X eliminates that problem.
To sweeten the deal even further, Glock has included a total of three magazines with the 19X (most Glocks come with a backup magazine). These journals should be featured
